Paid bookings
Haabtime does not decide or issue refunds for paid bookings, with one exception: a payment that arrives after the slot was released is refunded automatically, on the host’s behalf. Guests pay the host directly through the host’s own Stripe account, so the host is the seller and the host’s cancellation terms, shown before you pay and on your confirmation page, decide whether you get money back.
- Cancel a booking: use the private link in your confirmation email. The booking is cancelled and the slot is freed. Cancelling does not by itself refund you.
- Ask for a refund: contact the host, whose email is on your booking page and in your emails, and follow their terms. The host issues the refund from their Stripe dashboard.
- Payment not completed: you are not charged, and the slot is released.
- You paid after the slot was released: we refund that payment automatically, on the host’s connected Stripe account and on the host’s behalf.
- Your legal rights: if you are a consumer in the EU or UK you may have a right to withdraw within 14 days of buying. That right is exercised against the host, who is the seller. Haabtime cannot decide or pay a refund for them, but if a host does not answer, write to [email protected] and we will help where we can.
Hosts write the cancellation terms for their paid event types and must refund guests according to them and to the law.
Haabtime Paid plan
- Cancel any time from your dashboard. You keep paid features until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Consumers in the EU and UK (individuals buying for personal use, not for a business) can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing without giving a reason. Your Paid plan starts as soon as you subscribe, at your request. If you withdraw, we refund your payment minus the proportion for the days you already used, and you get it back within 14 days of your request.
- Everyone else, including businesses and customers outside the EU and UK, does not get a refund for a period already started, unless we broke these terms, we charged you in error, or the law says otherwise.
At checkout, before you pay, we ask you to confirm that you want the Paid plan to start immediately and that you understand how this affects your right to withdraw.
How to ask for a refund
- Booking: cancel from your booking page, then contact the host for a refund under their terms.
- Subscription or anything else: email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the date and amount of the payment.
We answer within 5 business days.
How long it takes
When a host refunds a paid booking, the money goes back to the original payment method through Stripe. Your bank usually shows it within 5 to 10 business days. If a currency conversion applied at checkout, the exchange rate at the time of refund may change the amount in your own currency.
For the Haabtime Paid plan, if a refund fails, for example because the card was closed, we retry it and, if needed, contact you for another way to pay you back.
For paid bookings, a failed refund is handled by the host: contact the host, and if they do not answer, write to [email protected].
Disputes and chargebacks
For the Haabtime Paid plan, please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank. It is faster, and a chargeback on a payment we already refunded cannot be undone.
For a paid booking, the host is the seller and answers disputes and chargebacks: contact the host first. If the host does not answer, write to [email protected].
